We are excited to let you know about an upcoming opportunity for your child!! Dent is pleased to offer free After-School Academic Tutoring (A-SAT) to help students improve in school. The tutoring program will provide students with coaching that is coordinated with skills/concepts currently being taught in school and may assist in improving their academic skills.
Research suggests that students who participate in tutoring programs make significant gains in student achievement. A-SAT will occur weekly, Tuesday through Thursday with certified teachers from 2:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. beginning Tuesday,February 4, 2014 and ending May 1, 2014. Transportation will not be provided, and students who are not picked up by 3:45 will be escorted to the Boys and Girls Club for supervision. Each student will be afforded two free days in the Boys and Girls Club and charged $10 per visit thereafter. More information will be available after the Winter Break.
