Career Cluster Spotlight
Business Management and Administration
People with business skills are the ones that make the deals that build profitable companies that power the
global economy. A career in business can take an individual to the CEO's corner office on the top floor of a
skyscraper or around the world making million-dollar deals.
The business management, and administration industry is the highest paying, with nearly half of all jobs in
management and professional occupations. For those who have always wanted to be their own boss, this is the
cluster to consider. Surveys indicate that about one-fourth of all workers in BMA careers are self-employed.
Top-paying BMA jobs often require a graduate college degree, such as a Masters of Business Administration
(MBA). But don't think you have to go on to graduate school to land a challenging job that offers competitive
pay and benefits.
